Vinifikation
The Cuvée Classique is the truest expression of Clos de Vougeot, based on a unique heritage that has existed since 1920. The different plots are vinified and aged separately, then brought together just before bottling. The Cuvée Classique allows each terroir to express itself, creating a beautiful wine that can be enjoyed even in its youth.
Degustationsnotiz
Ruby red in color with slight garnet reflections. The nose is dominated by spicy notes. On the palate, flavors of black currants, bay leaves, and sweet spices emerge. Rich and with a beautiful tannin structure, it can be cellared for at least 10 years. With age, it loses its spicy and menthol notes and gains earthy and mushroom characteristics. The finish is very long.

Château de la Tour
The Château de La Tour has been owned by the Labet family since its establishment at the end of the 19th century and is located in the northern part of Clos de Vougeot. Monsieur Beaudet from Beaune was the first member of the family to purchase vineyards here. His daughter then married the local winemaker Jean Morin, and their daughter eventually married Pierre Labet, who also owned a winery in Beaune. Since 1986, Château de La Tour has been managed by François Labet. «Clos de Vougeot» is one of the largest Grand Cru vineyards in the Côte de Nuits, with more than 100 parcels and around 80 owners. With 6.5 hectares (12% of the Grand Cru), Château de La Tour is the largest owner and the only one to vinify and bottle the wines of Clos de Vougeot itself. The vines have an average age of about 60 years.
