Vinifikation

Terra d’Eclano is made from grapes grown in five carefully selected vineyards planted exclusively with Aglianico. These specific sites lend the wine its characteristic depth and complexity. After harvest, the wine undergoes controlled fermentation, followed by gentle aging that preserves the full expressive potential of the grape variety. Its pronounced minerality and powerful structure are enhanced by extended maturation, allowing the wine’s aromatic spectrum to fully unfold. Even now, Terra d’Eclano reveals its layered personality while offering remarkable aging potential.

Degustationsnotiz

Deep ruby red with purple highlights. On the nose, a complex bouquet unfolds with wild berries, ripe plums, and liquorice, underpinned by roasted aromas like coffee and spicy nuances. On the palate, the wine displays an elegant structure with velvety, well-integrated tannins. The finish is remarkably long, leaving a lasting impression with balsamic, spicy, and mineral-fresh notes. The complexity and depth of the Aglianico grape endow Terra d’Eclano with exceptional aging capacity. Over time, it continues to gain elegance, balance, and depth.

Quintodecimo

Luigi’s winery, Quintodecimo, is located in Mirabella Eclano, about 80 kilometres northeast of Naples, in the heart of the Taurasi DOCG. The region is characterised by green meadows, dense forests and a mild climate influenced by the Apennines – ideal conditions for cultivating vines on volcanic soils.

A PhD oenologist, Luigi runs his estate organically and produces elegant Aglianico red wines that have played a key role in the modern recognition of this grape variety. Since its founding in 2001, the winery has followed a clear philosophy focused on preserving terroir and grape identity. Luigi and his wife Laura carefully select the vineyard sites and intervene only when necessary to craft characterful wines.

In addition to his acclaimed Aglianico reds, Luigi also succeeds in producing outstanding white wines from the native varieties Greco, Fiano and Falanghina – wines that impress with freshness, complexity, and ageing potential.
